It features two independent UART channels, each with its own set of control registers and FIFO buffers. The device is compatible with industry-standard RS-232 and RS-485 protocols, making it suitable for use in a wide range of serial communication applications.The PC16552D supports 5, 6, 7, or 8-bit data formats, with odd, even, or no parity options. It also provides adjustable receive and transmit FIFO trigger levels to optimize performance in various operating conditions. The device includes a programmable baud rate generator and supports hardware and software flow control methods to ensure reliable data transmission.In addition to its high-speed data transfer capabilities, the PC16552D features low power consumption and a flexible operating voltage range of 3.3V to 5.5V, making it well-suited for use in battery-powered or low-power applications.
