The Battery Junction Box Auto HVBMS BJB evaluation board solution uses MC33772C as the high-voltage detection unit of the battery. MC33772C is a lithium battery high-voltage detection chip specially designed for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) and Electric Eehicles (EV) applications. In addition, it can also be used in the industrial field. Applications such as Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and uninterruptible power supplies can use this chip for reference design.
The Battery Junction Box MC33772C HVBMS BJB solution relies on external power supply and has a wide power supply voltage, which can ensure normal operation within the voltage range of 5~30V and can withstand instant power supply of up to 40V voltage.
In terms of communication, MC33772C, depending on the specific model, can have an SPI interface with a communication rate of up to 4Mbit/s; or an isolated daisy chain communication (TPL) with a communication rate of 2Mbit/s. For TPL, MC33772C uses the TPL2 protocol (48 bit) with a certain frame length, which supports transformer isolation and capacitor isolation. The BJB solution adopts the TPL communication method.
The connector on the MC33772C HVBMS BJB evaluation board includes the battery pack high-voltage detection line, TPL communication line, 12V power supply line, and external NTC connection line. Users can connect the corresponding wiring harness to implement the BJB function.
The single board of this solution can support 400V voltage detection, and users can use 1 or 2 boards to build a 400V/800V system.
The Mc33772C package is HLQFP48 and has 7 GPIOs that can be configured as input and output, as well as ADC sampling pins. Combined with the Cell pin, it has up to 8 GPIOs as ADC sampling inputs. Among them, ICs with different signals have 0/1/3~6 Channels to meet the needs of different users.
