The TMC236 is a microstep stepper motor driver chip designed by TRINAMIC Motion Control GmbH & Co. KG. It is part of the company's TMC2xxx series of stepper motor drivers, which are known for their advanced features and high performance. The TMC236 is specifically designed for driving bipolar stepper motors with up to 2.5A peak current per phase. One of the key features of the TMC236 is its ability to provide extremely smooth and precise motor control through a technique called microstepping. Microstepping allows the motor to move in much smaller increments than traditional full or half stepping, resulting in quieter operation, reduced vibrations, and higher accuracy. The TMC236 also offers a range of advanced motion control features, including sensorless stall detection, dynamic current control, and stealthChop2 technology for silent operation at low speeds. It is capable of operating at voltages ranging from 3.3V to 5V, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
